Paul Davies is Professor of Natural Philosophy at the University of Adelaide Australia. He obtained a doctorate from University College London in 1970 and he has also held academic posts at the universities of London, Cambridge and Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
He emigrated to Australia in 1990. His research interests are in the field of black holes, cosmology and quantum gravity including superstrings, higher-dimensional black holes and quantum cosmology.
Among his better known works are God and the New Physics, Superforce, The Cosmic Blueprint, The Mind of God and The Last Three Minutes. His latest books include a major work of popular science entitled About Time, and Are We Alone?, dealing with the search for extraterrestrial life.
